Light rain doesn't usually close the trail and we only know Barfield is closed if they tell us. If the gate isn't open, try calling the Park Office at 615-890-5333 to verify if the trail is supposed to be closed. On weekends, visit or call the Wilderness Station at 615-217-3017.

*X* News from Montgomery Bell: *X*
The park has experienced a devastating amount of downed trees from this afternoon’s storm (11/7).
Jackson Hill road will be closed for tree removal. All trails will be closed until further notice. The park office will be closed at least tomorrow as there is no power.
At this time, we are not requesting volunteers and suggest the public avoid the park while we clean up from this storm.
Be safe, we can’t wait to see you soon.

Tread carefully in freeze/thaw conditions, this is the most fragile time of year for soils. Use Stinking Creek bypass during rainy season due to septic runoff concerns.
